A catch-all mailbox receives email messages sent to inactive email addresses under the exact same domain. For example, a message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will go to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. Thus, you can receive emails from colleagues or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling error or to an outdated one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for such a mailbox. This is due to the fact that at a certain point you may start receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation means that the spam will not be redirected to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Hosting

If you host a domain name on our cloud hosting platform and you have a hosting account, you’ll be able to enable the catch-all functionality for any e-mailbox that you set up under the domain name. The Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section comes with quite a few features, but it’s very easy to use, so setting up a catch-all mailbox requires only a click of the mouse. All the email addresses that you’ve created will be displayed in this section in alphabetical order and you’ll just have to click on the "Catch-all" button associated with the specific address. Our system will inform you if there is already another catch-all mailbox enabled for that domain or if the one that you’d like to be a catch-all mailbox has email forwarding activated, so you can either disable the latter feature or choose another mailbox. Disabling the catch-all feature is just as simple and takes one more mouse click on the same button.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The catch-all feature can be enabled without difficulty if you’ve got a semi-dedicated server plan with our company. All the email addresses that you’ve set up using the domain names hosted in your semi-dedicated server account will be shown in the Hepsia hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section and you will find a small logo handily situated directly next to each of them. With only a single click of the mouse, you can enable or disable the catch-all option for any mailbox of your desire provided that there isn't another mailbox under that same domain name with this option already activated and there isn't active email forwarding. Instead, you can right-click on a mailbox and enable this feature using the menu that will surface. In case any of the conditions for configuring a catch-all mailbox is not satisfied, our system will inform you, but will not replace or deactivate anything automatically.
